Tirana International Airport has started another era under the leadership of Kastrati Group. Since 2022, when this company received 100% of the shares, the situation has changed a lot.
The President of the Kastrati Group, Shefqet Kastrati, in 2021 said that very soon "we will be the leader of the region", predicting that within 3 years they would catch 10 million passengers per year. This figure has been reached and now in 2024, Tirana International Airport is a success story.
The executive director of Kastrati Group, Piervittorio Farabbi, says that the number of passengers does not increase by chance.
"The number of passengers does not increase simply by magic, but first it was the decision to create the capacities, then to turn the airport and Albania, Tirana, as an attractive destination", he said while adding that there are already more than 100 direct destinations .
"Another plan we have is to install solar panels here at the airport so that we can light up the entire airport, while every light we currently have is LED," he said.

In the activity "10 million passengers", the Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, was also present. During her speech, Balluku revealed the target for 2025: 12 million passengers in Rinas.
"Celebrating the 10 millionth passenger today has gone through a difficult path, above all a path full of doubts, but also for all the others who have used it for political narrative. Today, a moment of reflection because we are not driven by complacency. Today, all our predictions have been exceeded. Now, we have to work hard, since in 2025, we have committed to having more than 12 million passengers at this airport", she said.

Furthermore, Balluku said that through all the border points, 11 million and 40 visitors entered Albania until the month of November.
