The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, was asked by journalists today about the investigations into the Partizani file, a file for which Sali Berisha and his son-in-law are under arrest.
Regarding the progress of the investigations, the head of SPAK has stated that the file will be submitted to the court when the investigations are completely closed.
According to Duman, all the evidence has been collected.
To the question of whether there is a property investigation against Berisha, Dumani answered that 'property investigations have been carried out.'
Sali Berisha has been under house arrest since December 30 on charges of passive corruption, while his son-in-law remains under the same measure for 2 charges, passive corruption and money laundering related to the privatization of Partizan, on whose territory they were built 19 towers.
In addition to the change from prison arrest to mass house arrest of Jamarbër Malltez by the conflict of interest judge Ilirjana Olldashi, who has an apartment in one of the towers where Berisha's son-in-law is the shares, all the repeated requests of the former prime minister and Malltez for the revocation of the measures of security, have fallen.
Therefore, Berisha is still a member of the Parliament of Albania. If he does not leave the house to go to the parliament by the end of June, Berisha's mandate will automatically expire due to his 6-month absence from the plenary sessions.
The accusations from SPAK against Berisha
According to the Special Prosecutor's Office, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, it turns out that he had an active role in promoting the privatization of the former Partizani sports complex in violation of the law and for the benefit of his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi.
SPAK writes in the announcement that from the investigations, reasonable suspicion has been created, based on evidence, that Sali Berisha has committed the criminal offenses of "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", in cooperation with his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi.
Specifically, according to the prosecution, Sali Berisha, in his capacity as prime minister of the Republic of Albania, has carried out concrete and active actions, in the adoption of laws or by-laws, with the aim of adapting them according to the needs presented to the five known owner families, where the direct winner, among others, turned out to be the husband of his daughter, Jamarbër Malltezi.
According to SPAK, Sali Berisha, as prime minister, has exercised control and pressure on the administration to issue the privatization order as soon as possible, from which his son-in-law has benefited about 5.4 million euros.
