Berisha's accusations, Lorenc Vangjeli: Lynching of journalists, a shame

Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli described the attack by Sali Berisha's militants on the publisher and journalist Carlo Bollino as a political threat to the media.

The public lynching of journalist Carlo Bollino is a shame for Albanian society, says Lorenc Vangjeli, who also lists some of the reasons. According to Vangjeli, it is an alarm bell and an explosion at the foundation of the system.

' It is not a new thing, it is a repeated thing and it is proof of the fact that the former prime minister, the former president, can change the color of his hair, from black hair in '90, to now gray hair, but not the old vice of deep hostility completely incompatible with the media. It is an enmity that stems from the profoundly different interests that these powers, politics and journalism have. There are two lines that do not meet.

Today, another power, the power of justice, has doubts and they invite Berisha to confront these doubts inside this system. Berisha sketched the same way he built his imaginary state where he continues to be, president, prime minister, president of the court, president of the parliament, lawyer for his uncles and prosecutor for anyone who does not think like him, typical of the philosophy of the first half of the century past, this time there was a chance to cross a journalist and a prosecutor.

One of them has to do with the fact of the innate and declared enmity between the word, which is free even if it were wrong, and the deed which is being proven more and more in the wrong colors.

The public lynching of journalist Bollino is a shame for Albanian society. For many reasons, one has to do with the bad, ugly light, totally depressing for us Albanians who have suffered racism the most.

Bollino, who comes from the south of Italy, would be seen differently if he came from Milan, New York or even from Tropoja, even Berisha would consider him a friend as long as you don't confront him. The second concerns Bollino's journalistic activity.

Bollino is the author, among other things, of an investigation about this area around Report Tv, from the property of a sports club turned into a mini neighborhood with such towers that there is no bag to protect them. The party of the poor is in this pose, the party which becomes the refuge of the rich and the very rich with the first million of doubt. The river of lies that tries to punish the publisher by seeing him as a businessman is unfair and dishonest for everything, if there were other reasons the clash of ideas is normal. The rest remains outside the walls of the offices of a television in which dozens of people work, who in exchange for bread provide information to the public.

This is a match that feels like you're rehashing a match from before. The difference in the conflict between two parties who do not legitimize each other must go to court. Berisha, contrary to what he stated in his declaration of assets, should write -100 thousand ALL, which he should pay to Bollino due to the slander made before. Even this thing in conditions of abnormality that Albanian society functions is abnormal. Berisha is the inspirer of that blind hatred that can come from unknown portraits that threaten the journalist's physical integrity as well. It is an explosive detonation at the foundation of the system. It is a political power, against a power such as the media.

It also has to do with the silence that screams in such a case, with the silence of colleagues who, regardless of whether they may or may not agree with Bollino's positions, must once and for all share a position that is unchangeable.

A journalist can never be a friend of a politician. It is the deontology of the profession, it is not a choice, it is the only solution. Someone is silent for one reason, someone is silent for another reason. This shows that many of the public voices in Albania continue to have the old vice of the Albanian who looks with despair at the success of the Albanian. Bollinon and Nikoll Lesi are two of the representatives of the schools of journalism in Albania, different, but they were schools, the landscape and history of the Albanian media would be much sadder without the presence of Nikoll Lesi or the Albanian Carlo Bollino, who speaks Albanian better than another Albanian who uses hate in his language.

It is not Berisha's militants who threaten the journalist Bollino, but politics threatens the media. This is not about an individual but about the media. In this case, the politician is Sali Berisha. Militants are details. In a crime, no one points the finger at the arm, but at the one who directs the cobra.

It is an alarm bell that what we have achieved, the media cannot win the war, but it is forced to win the battle in the daily struggle to bring information. It can be said tomorrow, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. This is a duet that knows who the winner is. "Politicians come and go, even when they seem eternal like Sali Berisha, journalists remain ," Vangjeli said.
