Three more names have joined the Special Prosecutor's Office, bringing the number of prosecutors who will investigate organized crime and corruption to 20.

Today, the Supreme Prosecution Council (KLP) selected prosecutors Ols Dado, Anita Jella and Ndini Tavani among the 8 names competing to join the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK).

But who are the three prosecutors selected today by KLP to be part of SPAK?

OLSI DADO

Olsi Dado worked in the private sector and as a notary, before being appointed a prosecutor in the Pogradec Prosecutor's Office in 2008. In 2010, he was transferred to the Tirana Judicial District Prosecutor's Office, while since 2020 he has been assigned to the General Prosecutor's Office as an assistant magistrates.

Prosecutor Ols Dado faced the Independent Qualification Commission, KPK without problems on November 1, 2022, when during the hearing no findings were reported for which the burden of proof had been passed in any of the revaluation criteria. Dado thanked the Commission, calling the investigation in-depth and objective, and asked for confirmation in office. So his encounter with vetting went without any problems.

ANITA JELLA

Anita Jella has been the head of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office until now. She has also successfully passed both "filters" of vetting.

Jella was confirmed in office by the first level of vetting, the KPK, in December 2019, but the observers of the International Monitoring Operation, ONM, asked the Public Commissioner to appeal the case on the grounds that she should be dismissed for failing to declare wealth and problems of professionalism.

It is learned that the Commissioner's complaint was based on Jella's actions and inactions in the case against Liridon Pula, head of the Durrës Cadastre State Agency, and those for a judge of the Tirana Court of Appeal, who was transferred to Durrës for competence.

During the hearings, prosecutor Anita Jella presented her explanations regarding 7 complaints from the public filed after her case was transferred to the KPA. Thus, the Special Appeal Board reconfirmed him in office on February 15, 2022.

BREAK THE CEILING

Ndini Tavani, it is known, has been the prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana until now.

Ndini Tavani completed his law studies and practiced as a lawyer in 2003-2004. Afterwards, he continued his studies at the School of Magistrates and after 2007 he worked as a prosecutor in Durres, Vlora and Tirana.

Earlier, he was fired from his position by the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK).

The KPK decided by a majority of votes to dismiss Tavani on October 11, 2019, as according to two members of the Commission, incomplete investigations and problems regarding the property were identified.

But this decision was later overturned by the Special Appeal Board (KPA), which unanimously decided to reinstate prosecutor Ndini Tavani.
