Accused of abuse of office, CEC "deposes" SPAK; allows SP Mayor Leonard Hida to retain his mandate

Despite the fact that SPAK has taken him as a defendant and himself declared himself available to justice, the CEC will allow the continuation of the mandate of Leonard Hides, mayor of Libohova Municipality, elected under the SP logo.

This was officially announced today (October 16), after the review and disclosure of the report on the related issue.

Hide is under investigation and accused by SPAK of "abuse of duty", for the period when he was chief of Crimes in Gjirokastër, for 5 episodes in 2021, in relation to the drug plots planted in the administrative area he covered at that time, but since he is in investigation phase still and there is no guilty verdict from GJKKO, CEC will declare tomorrow that his mandate will not be affected by the Decriminalization Law.

Currently, the file is in SPAK, after the Prosecutor's Office of Gjirokastra on June 12, 2023 announced its incompetence, after Hide won the local elections of May 14, 2023, being declared mayor of Libohova.
