New member of the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court decides on September 30

The new member of the Constitutional Court, who will replace Holta Zaçaj, after the end of her mandate, will be elected on September 30. This is the date that the Supreme Court has decided to hold the meeting, thus ending the vacancy created after the end of the mandate of the member who also played the role of the President of the Constitutional Court.

"The Supreme Court announces that after the submission on 23.09.2025 by the Judicial Appointments Council (KED) of the report and ranking list of candidates for the vacant position of judge of the Constitutional Court, a position announced by the Supreme Court on 11.12.2024, it has taken the next step in this institutional process.

In support of the relevant legal provisions and regulations, the President of the High Court, Mr. Sokol Sadushi, has decided to convene a Special Meeting of the judges of the High Court.

"The meeting will take place on September 30, 2025, at 09:00, near the premises of the Supreme Court, with the aim of electing the new member of the Constitutional Court," the official announcement states.

Out of 13 candidates who expressed interest in this important position, KED has selected 6 names that meet the criteria to move on to the next phase of professional and moral evaluation.

The selected candidates are:
