The breach in the Seman River embankment in several segments has flooded hundreds of hectares of agricultural land in the village of Hasturkas in Libofshë and 20 homes.
Residents who have been on alert all night express alarm at the situation.
Throughout the night, 9 people were evacuated and have taken shelter with their relatives, while others are concerned about the fate of their relatives with whom they have lost contact.
Meanwhile, army forces are stationed with boats near the maritime area and near livestock stables to evacuate not only the shepherds, but also the endangered livestock.
Residents unanimously blame the situation on the failure to take measures to strengthen the embankment in its most problematic parts.
