Berisha massacred him in '97, journalist Zamir Dule passes away
Zamir Dule

Journalist Zamir Dule has passed away at the age of 55, who worked with the newspaper 'Koha Jonë' in 1993-1997.

Dule was suffering from heart problems and passed away after an operation.

His funeral will take place today in the village of Miras in Korça at 1:00 p.m. Zamir Dule was a correspondent of the newspaper "Koha Jonë" for Korça first, and then worked in the central editorial office in Tirana until 1997.

In the event of the night of March 2, dawning on March 3, 1997, the journalist Zamir Dule, before setting fire to the KOHA JONE editorial office by SHIK, the Police and the Republic Guard, was forcibly taken from the newspaper's offices, together with another employee Anesti Nikolla, and was beaten and mutilated in the cells of Police Station No. 3 in Tirana.

Since that macabre night for the free media, the journalist Zamir Dule was no longer available for work, after the inhumane consequences against him by the SHIK scouts.

He had been suffering from heart disease for a long time and his family had often called for help.

The life of journalist Zamir Dule is full of suffering

The life of journalist Zamir Dule is a drama in itself and it would take a voluminous novel to describe it. He showed talent in high school, which he later "converted" into journalism.

After the first articles in the newspaper "Voice of Youth" with special tendencies in the genres of chronicles, he started as a correspondent of the newspaper "Our Time" for the District of Korça.

In 1994, appreciating his skills and dedication, the publisher Nikollë Lesi brought him to Tirana where he covered the chronicle sector for the police, the prosecution and the court.

At his peak, until approximately 1996, when he also wrote the book 'Monster of Tropoja'" Zamir Dule became a symbol of the journalist of the black chronicle. As much as Karlo Bolino, at that time the publisher of "Gazeta Shqiptare" which Zamir i had offered himself for employment earlier, whenever the latter published his sensational news, it made Carlo regretfully utter the phrase 'Ah Mr Dule! Mr Dule!

He sacrificed so much for his profession that at one point in his career, with the aim of getting the most sensational news from Tirana and the whole country, he made a 'pact with the devil'.

Zamiri quickly withdrew from this wrong step, as according to his confession, SHIK was serving some second-hand news without interest, and moreover, the journalist himself, according to his confession, regretted this communication ..

As a reaction, he made a self-decision: 'Better a terrible end or an endless horror?' Which meant the tribute he would have to pay...

This is where the ordeal of Zamir Dules began, who under the pressure of persecution began to show psychological problems. For which the murder of one of his brothers had an impact on the other hand. The climax of these tortures reached the ghastly night of the burning of the editorial office of the newspaper "Koha Jône" at the beginning of March 1997.

At that time, some of the journalists, part of the staff and the bodyguards of the publisher Nikollë Lesi took shelter to sleep in the underground floor of the newsroom. The night when the editorial building was attacked, Zamir Dule was the only one who was in the editorial office after midnight together with another employee of the newspaper since it was the weekend and everyone who was sheltering in the lower rooms had left with permission.

Zamir Dule was escorted to the police where he was tortured, these tortures put a lid on the terrible persecutions against him. He no longer recovered professionally, but also from his mental health and the shadow of persecution that did not leave him.

The government of the Prime Minister of the time, Fatos Nano, granted the journalist Zamir Dule a special pension, as a sign of appreciation for his work under conditions of persecution and especially for his torture by the police.

From time to time, Zamir Dule has become the subject of discussions, even in the political ranks, as the journalist symbol of a vindictive regime against journalists. Also, there was an attempt to be contacted by his colleagues to interview him, but Zamir, withdrawn into his solitude and the world of books, refused them. After the death of his parents one after the other, Zamir, who could not marry, is taken care of by his brother.

Some time ago, seeing the speculative reactions in the media or politics to remind politics of the victimization of a famous media professional, the head of the Union of Albanian Journalists, journalist Aleksandër Çipa, appealed with an article entitled 'Leave Zamir alone !'
