The former Prime Minister of Albania, Sali Berisha, was charged by the Special Prosecutor's Office for "passive corruption" carried out in cooperation, for the investigation file of the privatization of the former "Partizani" complex.
The well-known lawyer Romeo Kara, invited to the news edition "Last Hour" said that the accusation of the Prosecution in charge of Sali Berisha is flawed, adding that SPAK prosecutors have been "somewhat frugal".
"This accusation against Berisha is flawed, it has been shown to be sparing, and after a long wait that we have had as a people, that we have suffered from a ruler like Berisha, where his personal desires and passions have been the real laws of the land. We have been waiting for him to face justice and this day has come. "The most powerful person in these three decades, Sali Berisha, faced justice for the first time today," he said.
He added that the rhetoric used by Berisha before SPAK is derogatory.
"His rhetoric before SPAK is derogatory and unacceptable. His dealings with justice will be done and justice will prevail. We evaluate it as very positive and as a very awaited day", said the lawyer.
Journalist Fatos Mahmutaj said that the accusation of "passive corruption" against Berisha is too little. He added that the former prime minister should be investigated for "active corruption" and "abuse of duty".
"This accusation, i.e. passive corruption, that was communicated to Berisha is too little for him. He is not only corrupt, but has misused his office. His corruption is not passive, but active, he has benefited from the construction of those towers in the former Partizani complex. They escorted him the same way Kim Jong-un is escorted. Berisha and his family have always behaved above the law and have always defied the law," he said.
During the discussion, the lawyer emphasized that if Berisha continues with this language and this path of destabilization, it is likely that he will end up in prison instead of house arrest.
"If he will continue with this path, the path of destabilization, I see that he will be arrested and imprisoned," he said.
Likewise, lawyer Kara emphasized that the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, is expected to end up in the "hands of justice" very soon, and from there he will have to account for all the abuses he has committed.
"They will also take Meta inside. They will be very good there and we will be calmer and they will be calmer. This time will end and the time of heroes from nowhere will end", he emphasized.
