Lawyer Redi Ramaj has spoken about the "house arrest" measure imposed by GJKKO on former Prime Minister Berisha.
He said that it is difficult for there to be strict measures that would lead to the imprisonment of Berisha.
In an interview for "Euronews Albania", the lawyer said that only if Berisha would leave the apartment illegally, measures could be taken to arrest him.
He emphasized that the ban on communication imposed on Berisha is beyond the provisions of the criminal procedure code and according to him communication does not violate the principle of house arrest.
"There was no possibility for another defendant not to be aware of the 'compulsion to appear' measure and the measure of house arrest with communication ban, I think it is beyond the provisions of Article 237 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Communication is a very difficult thing to stop. Everyone can communicate with the public without restriction, through online platforms. Communication does not violate the principle of house arrest.
Only the movement of Berisha from his apartment will be decisive for the change in the security measure against him. I think it will be difficult to determine the measure of imprisonment for Berisha, seeing the circumstances of how the event is developing, seeing that initially a light measure of 'compulsion to appear'" said Ramaj.
