In a 10-minute session, the Assembly decided in favor of removing Sali Berisha's immunity, handing him over to justice.
Analyst Skënder Minxhozi used a metaphor to describe the political fate of the former prime minister. According to him, Berisha has entered the last credits of the film of his political career and with his arrest he cannot produce a "hero" of himself, as he has been abandoned by everyone.
Berisha cannot make a "hero" out of himself with an arrest, because he doesn't have time. There is no certain popular support and it can be added along the way to produce the politician who by means of the arrest benefits something. With this arrest, Berisha isolates himself even further and wins the idea at the end of the day that this politician is at the end credits of his film and his career, if we can use it as a metaphor ," he said.
Referring to the participation in the protest called in front of the Assembly, Minxhzoi said that the picture coming from there had a direct meaning, in other words; a total and massive abandonment for Berisha.
" Berisha is being arrested alone, you saw how many people he could gather for his personal fate. In not too distant times, the support was completely different, and why this support is exhausted, this will take a long time of analysis , he said.
He commented on the action of the group of deputies of Basha, who, although they voted in favor of the Mandates and Immunity Council, did not go to the session today to vote on the removal of Sali Berisha's immunity.
But how is this attitude viewed and are we dealing with a favor that Basha gave to Berisha at the end of his political life, for this Minxhozi said the following:
" The favor was to be done if it will be done in the Council of Immunities that Alibeaj voted for, because today in the hall, numerically, Basha did not block the removal of immunity, because SP plus PSD achieved what they achieved. It seems to me that this rather shows the double, indecisive, even deceitful character of Basha, who does one thing and does not do another. He says he will go to the Parliament and he doesn't go, he says he will participate in the elections and he doesn't. He fights some small and petty wars, which reveal a character and figure not very dignified. With the departure of Berisha, Berishism did not disappear ," he said.
But after Berisha, is it the turn for Lulzim Basha to leave politics, Minxhozi answered this question by saying that Basha is a politician without character and double-minded in his attitudes about causes.
" Obviously, Basha has taken on a large dose of consumption by entering politics without a record and without merit in 2005, there is a historical merit, which must be said, that Basha was the one who took Berisha out of politics by first freezing him inside the group. We are at the end of a road, where the appearance of SPAK on the scene as a new player in the field gives us a chance for a new beginning. Today, we have a situation where we can have politicians who have not yet reached 80 years of age, but as far as the end of their political career is concerned, they are that of an 80-year-old. I think Berishism will eventually continue even without Berisha ", he said in "ABC News".
