Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha appeared today at the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, in implementation of the "compulsory appearance" security measure for the "Partizani" file.
The Chief Democrat was welcomed by his supporters outside the Special Prosecution Office building, where after greeting them, he entered the SPAK premises.
After fulfilling his legal obligation, Berisha read the message he left at SPAK.
"First of all, to all those who follow us, I wish you a Happy New Year 2026. A year with the best for you and your loved ones.
Here in Skap I left this note: To Altin Troplini, the Paja of Skap (it remained with him, I didn't put it on him, since Elvis Doçi pardoned him, he remained the Paja of Skap) the enemy of political pluralism and McGonigal's lawyer, with a guarantee that his crimes will not go unpunished by the law," declared Sali Berisha.
Sali Berisha is accused of having, in his capacity as prime minister at the time, taken concrete actions in approving laws and bylaws, where his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, was also a beneficiary for the construction of palaces on the site of the former Partizani sports complex.
Malltezi is also accused of corruption, but also of money laundering. According to SPAK, he has benefited from income worth 5.4 million euros from a construction business in an irregular manner thanks to government decisions taken by his father-in-law.
