The attack on News24 and other Focus Media News outlets has echoed in international media.
Polish television 'TVP World' has reported extensively on the police operation, highlighting the concern of press freedom institutions in the Western Balkans.
According to the article by 'TVP World', the police operation against one of the largest media groups in Albania has been widely condemned by journalists' organizations in the region.
Polish media wrote that "the police surrounded the Focus Media News building, cut off the electricity and the News24 signal, preventing journalists from entering the newsroom and continuing their work. The event was seen as a direct threat to press freedom."
TVP World devotes special space to the response of the SafeJournalists Network, which represents journalists' associations and unions from six Western Balkan countries.
In their statement, they demand the immediate lifting of the blockade, the restoration of power, and the guarantee of free access for journalists to their workplace, as well as a public explanation from the authorities on the legal basis for this action.
"Any measures against the media should be taken only in accordance with legal procedures, under court supervision and with minimal interference in journalistic activity," TVP World quotes the organization's reaction.
