The Ministry of Justice has called for the cooperation of experts in the field of law and other disciplines who have previously published research and suggestions for the New Criminal Code.
Aiming for inclusiveness in the most important initiative of recent years aimed at bringing in a new criminal code, the Ministry of Justice has started publishing the draft prepared by the working groups, which precedes the public consultation.
In the general part officially published by the Ministry of Justice, the prison sentence during the weekend of young people up to 21 years of age, for crimes punishable by up to 3 years of imprisonment, is included as an innovation. The weekend prison starts on Friday at 19:00 and ends on Monday at 9:00 in the morning and lasts as long as the weekend they have three years in prison.
In the officially made public part of the draft, for which versions of various actors were announced earlier, includes the penalty of a fine and the transfer in favor of the state of values from 100 thousand to ten million for crimes and from 50 thousand to 3 million for misdemeanor.
The code toughens the attitude towards officials who commit crimes, who are deprived of the right to exercise public functions for up to 20 years.
This additional punishment is given to officials who are sentenced to between five and ten years of imprisonment, while those who are sentenced to three years of imprisonment are deprived of this right for 5 to 15 years. The current code was approved in 1995 and subsequently amended 30 times./ Tch
