The State Police has reacted after the publication in the media of the news that the husband of Minister Delina Ibrahimaj has fled abroad, after stabbing a senior official asking him to resign.
Even though the incident happened in November of last year, it was not made public by the police, and even though more than five months have passed since the investigation, it seems that there is still no restraining order issued against the suspected perpetrator.
Minister Delina Ibrahimaj's husband, Andri Ibrahimaj, allegedly shot the general director of the Credit Processing Agency (ATK), Ari Koshaj, with a knife because of his duty. This is also confirmed by the medical-legal expertise report which states that Koshaj has two cuts with a knife.
However, the police say that they acted in accordance with the law, throwing the "ball" in this case to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, announcing that they have referred the incident to the criminal offense of "hitting due to duty", against Andri Ibrahimatj.
At the same time, the police confirm that Andri Ibrahimaj's testimony was taken after the incident and he was released. It is reported that Andri Ibrahimaj has been abroad for several months now.
