Criminology professor Ervin Karamuço shared details from the SPAK operation at the call center operating in a tower in the center of Tirana, where 10 people were arrested.
Karamuço ruled out the possibility that the operation was uncovered by the police, as he said the operation was launched only by BKH agents and the police were called in for help only at a later stage. He explained that call centers that engage in such illegal activities have a red button that deletes everything if there is police control, so BK aimed to intervene in flagrante delicto to avoid this.
"The action in Albania was done to catch them red-handed because the evidence was somewhat lacking. The red-handedness had to do with a red button that should not have been pressed. It is a button that Call Centers that carry out such illegal activities have in such a way that as soon as the administrator sees that someone comes for a check, he presses that button and everything is hidden in all the computers. BKH aimed at this, to initially arrest or detain security or internal employees who had the magnetic card to open the door without ringing the bell, to catch them red-handed. The fact that some of these perimeter security protection personnel were armed means that they may have been state employees, but this is to be investigated.
"Yes, one of them immediately cooperated with BKH and showed where the computers were transferred, to the playground on Elbasani Street, where the second attack took place, where the help of the state police was requested after the situation went beyond expectations. The police did not know anything at all, the operation was launched only by BKH agents and the police were involved only when the agents were needed. An investigation has been launched at SPAK to see if the debunking came from BKH or the Italians, but the police are completely excluded. There are several operations that SPAK is carrying out only with BKH and they were debunked, which means that there are problems themselves ," Karamuço said on the Now show on Euronews Albania.
