The High Judicial Council (HJC) reacted this evening regarding the scandal of the conviction of GJKKO judge, Irena Gjoka, in the Greek state for falsifying documents, denying that it has received any official document from the General Prosecutor's Office.
In an official press release, the Supreme Court of Kosovo announced that as of 20:30 on January 20, 2026, no official letter from the Prosecutor's Office had arrived at the institution's address. "As soon as the letter officially arrives, it will be administered by the Career Development Commission and the relevant legal procedure will be followed," the statement said.
But this statement contradicts the previous announcement by the General Prosecutor's Office, which stated that it has sent not only the authentic decision of Gjoka's conviction to Greece, but also the act of archiving the Greek prosecutor, due to the impossibility of executing the criminal decision.
Meanwhile, SPAK has launched investigations into this matter, registering an anonymous criminal proceeding on the circumstances of the conviction and its failure to declare by the judge, as well as on the way this information was handled by Albanian institutions.
