The Greeks seem to have been alarmed by the scenario's failure to manipulate the population census. Their insistence on Fredi Beller is related only to the census and nothing else. Now that the census has started, Athina does not speak at all. The only ones left are OMONIA, the association directed by Fredi Beleri himself.
They have issued accusations that the census is being manipulated. In fact, the head of Archives Ardi Bido has clearly shown the scheme. According to him, the plan of the Greeks was that in Himara it would appear that 20 percent of the population are Greeks and that it would be declared a minority area, where the Greek language would be introduced, etc. But the plan seems to be backfiring.
" While as a political forum of the Greek Ethnic Minority we undertook the denunciation with two previous communications of serious deviations from the provisions of the Law on the General Census of Population and Housing - Cens 2023, unfortunately we find that the situation worsens. Furthermore, the request that we persistently submitted for a meeting with the head of INSTAT, met with avoidance and rejection under the pretext of the loaded program.
In parallel with the illegal behavior of the registrars who methodically do not address sensitive questions to citizens, about ethnic origin, mother tongue and religious belief, and do not record the respective answers, violating the fundamental right of self-declaration, the bullying of public opinion continues.
And this is carried out on the one hand with provocative pressures of the clerks - registrars, the presence on the ground and the involvement in the process of state service officials who are not related to the Census and on the other hand through tendentious television shows with the participation of high state officials and pseudo political representatives - patriotic.
In addition to others, in the region of Korça, but also Përmet, Erseka, Lunzhëri, Myzeqe, Pogradec, etc. the phenomenon of exercise of deliberate influence by the registrars on the surveyed citizens for confusing them in the answers about ethnicity is also noticed.
In residential centers and neighborhoods of urban centers with a substantial presence of members of the Greek ethnic minority who wish to be registered as such, having Greek as their mother tongue and Orthodox religious belief, an unsubstantiated suspension of the process with interruption of the presence of registrars in ground.
By denouncing in this communiqué as well as in the previous two, the systematic violations in the registration process, we simultaneously express the prevailing opinion that once again the state aims to manipulate the results, violating the legislation in force and the best practices to which it is officially committed in the framework of EU integration ", their response states.
