Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke about the incident that took place this morning where lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi was physically attacked. The lawyer was hit with hard tools, iron gloves, on the head and body, by at least 3 people involved in the attack on him, while he is intubated in the Trauma hospital in Tirana.
The Tirana Police through an official statement made it known that they have identified all the perpetrators, including the one whom Director Tonin Vocaj considered to be the one who commissioned the violence against the lawyer.
Invited to the studio of the show "Open" on News24, journalist Lala revealed details about the serious event. Lala said that the lawyer's health situation is serious, he had a large hematoma on his head.
"After being hit by Dorian Aliaj with an iron glove, lawyer Mêngjesi fell to the ground and received another blow as a result of the fall, then the perpetrators hit him again. His condition has worsened, but according to the doctors, he will pass the danger to his life" , said Lala.
Referring to the incident, Lala said that Dorian Aliaj is the only one who has surrendered to the Tirana Police, while Dorian Nano was arrested at the initiative of the Police.
The journalist stated that lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi was the lawyer of one of the families claiming a piece of land.
Brari and Seqeri were the families in a conflict over property issues. The property was at the lake dam where it is built today. The Sugar family has contacted the lawyer Mêngjesi and has acquired the right to the property. We have 8 heirs from the Sheqeri family, most of whom agreed that the contract they had with the lawyer should be respected, since he had given his help, legal consultancy, so that they could win the case that was being judged. Dritan Nano, one of the heirs, did not accept the contract, and there was a verbal argument between him and the lawyer. At the moment when this whole debate took place, Dritan Nano organized all the people and we have today's event. The lawyer had warned that if the contract was not respected, he would go to court ," said Lala.
She added that the attack on the lawyer has nothing to do with politics, which is why during the afternoon the political tones were reduced.
"Violators are social and family ties between them. It is unacceptable that the life of any citizen is in danger at any moment. No one has the right to raise a hand over another and I am sad that politics pokes its nose into such stories ," said Lala.
The journalist said that the role of the lawyer has been undone, it was undone by the justice reform, today he is seen as a realtor and this should not happen.
