The full dynamic of the violence against the lawyer Sokol Mëngjesi is clarified. The police announced that we are dealing with a dispute related to a property trial. According to the data, the person who ordered the violence is Dritan Nano, one of the many people who won millions thanks to the lawyer Mêngjesi.
The latter was contracted by 8 families, for a legal process related to the ownership of the lands where the towers of the artificial lake dam were built by the oligarch Bashkim Ulaj. The lawyer won the trial on both counts. But in the end, Dritan Nano's family refused to pay the lawyer based on the agreement they made at the beginning, unlike the other 7.

Dorian Alia handed himself over to the police, while the police are offering 20,000 euros for the capture of the other 3. It is learned that one of them is Dritan Nano's son-in-law.
It is learned that Manjesi has head fractures and other body injuries. Due to his serious health condition, the lawyer was intubated and is under the care of doctors at the Trauma hospital.

I am here today to inform the public about the measures taken by the Police regarding the serious incident that happened today, 29.05.2024, around 08:50, where in the area of the former Block in Tirana , on "Pjetër Bogdani" street, three people hit with hard objects the citizen Sokol Mêngjesi, 45 years old, resident of Tirana, lawyer by profession.
The injured person was immediately sent to the hospital for medical assistance and is under the care of doctors.
Immediately after receiving the notification, the services of the Police Station No. 2 and the Department for the Investigation of Serious Crimes, in the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, organized the police work to obtain information on the possible perpetrators of this event, where from the totality of the actions tracing and procedural, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, it has become possible to identify the suspected perpetrators of this criminal event, specifically the citizens:
- Dorian Beqir Alia, 32 years old, resident of Tirana, who surrendered to the Police;
- Drivald Sokol Alia, 21 years old, resident in Tirana;
- Elton Ndue Kasaj, 33 years old, resident in Tirana;
- Romario Roberto Tabaku, 26 years old, resident of Tirana (who drove the perpetrators away from the scene with an Audi vehicle with license plate AB 696 JT).
From the investigative actions, it appears that the injured Sokol Mêngjesi, a lawyer by profession, was hit because of his duty. From the investigative actions, it appears that the lawyer has legally represented a family who inherited a property in the city of Tirana in a civil process in the first instance and in the appeal, a process which was won by the party represented by him. Some of the heirs have not agreed to fulfill the legal conditions of the contract signed with the "ALTERUM LLC" Legal Studio.
Following the investigative and procedural actions, the citizen Dritan Jani Nano, 58 years old, resident in Tirana, who was detained on his own initiative, suspected as the organizer of this serious criminal event, was accompanied.
The materials will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana for the criminal offense "Murder of public officials", which remains pending, provided by articles 79/a and 22 of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, the Local Directorate of the Tirana Police, supported by the General Directorate of the State Police, the RENEA Special Forces, the National Security Forces, continue the operation for the search, localization and capture of the wanted persons.
