The General Appeal leaves Dritan Nanon and Dorian Alia in prison, arrested for the violence against lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi.
Dritan Nano has appealed the decision of the Court of Tirana, which imposed a security measure of arrest and imprisonment against him, but the Appeal has upheld it.
Lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi was physically assaulted by four people, three of whom are still being sought.
He was the legal representative of 8 heirs of a property in Tirana, in the court process won in the First Instance and in the Appeal.
But one of the heirs, namely Dritan Nano who was accompanied by the Police as a suspected organizer of the violence, refused to honor the contract with the law firm for making the payment.
After 16 days in a serious condition, the lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi came out of the coma on June 13, while he is in a hospital in Athens.
"Referring to the materials of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, it turns out that on 29.05.2024, at around 08:34, on "Pjeter Bogdani" street, in the area of the former Block in Tirana, the citizen with the initials D. A, in cooperation with citizens D. A etc., in a family relationship between them, have hit citizen Sokol Mengjesi, a lawyer by profession, with hard objects.
The Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana has conducted the trial regarding the assessment as legal of the arrest in flagrante delicto and the assignment of the security measure "arrest in prison" to the persons under investigation, citizens with the initials D. N and D. A , suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Deliberate serious injury" and "Resistance and assault of the judge", committed in cooperation, provided by articles 88/1, 25 and 316, 25 of the Criminal Code.
The Court of First Instance of Tirana General Jurisdiction, with decision no. 1433 Reg. Them, dated 01.06.2024, has decided:
Accepting the requests of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana.
To evaluate as legal the arrest in flagrante delicto of the person under investigation N.
To designate as a measure of personal security, against the person under investigation N, that of "arrest in prison", provided by article 238 of the Criminal Code. Criminal.

The Judicial Police is ordered to execute this decision.
The case on appeal was examined on the basis of the appeal made by the person under investigation with the initials D. N, who requested the change of the decision on the illegal assessment of the arrest, in connection with the assignment of the measure of personal security from "arrest in prison" to a measure easier insurance.
At the end of the trial, today on 19.06.2024, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, composed of the panel with Judge Ms. Valbona Vata, decided:
-Approval of decision no. 1433 reg.them, dated 01.06.2024 of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana" , the announcement states.
