The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, has stated that the Albanian government will unreservedly support the consolidation of a justice system that strengthens citizens' trust and promotes accountability.
In an activity organized for the "Day of Justice", Manja said that the Reform is day by day consolidating itself and restoring the confidence of the citizens, but emphasized that there are still many challenges that they face.
"Please accept that judges do not like long speeches, but we will do what we will. Without a justice that protects the rights and freedoms of the citizen, we will never have democracy and economic development. The reform in Justice is consolidating itself day by day and it is restoring citizens' trust in justice. As for us as a government, we will continue to unreservedly support the consolidation of a stable justice system that strengthens citizens' trust and promotes accountability and integrity at all levels.
We have justice institutions with a modern architecture of institutions and multiple control and balance mechanisms between the powers that are much more responsible and accountable than 10 years ago. We still have challenges that we face every day to provide citizens with a dignified service that meets their needs.
Addressing these challenges through a new and more efficient approach to their management is the common goal of all the honorable representatives who are present here today. It is these challenges that encourage us to increase inter-institutional cooperation between justice bodies.
Our compass, both in the adoption of laws and in their implementation, has been and remains the citizens, their rights and freedoms, so the judicial system must be oriented towards the quality of the service provided by them to deliver justice," Manja said . .
