According to security expert Fatjon Softa, the dismissal of Muhamet Rrumbullaku as the general director of the police is part of the legal change that has involved the state police and, according to him, has nothing to do with a political decision.
In an interview for "Report TV", Softa emphasized that Rrumbullaku has submitted his resignation several times for health reasons, but it was not accepted.
" First, we are implementing the legal change. There is a change to the police law. One of the criteria that the leader will be selected by competition with 3 candidates where there are several criteria. Race not with names but with platforms. Mr. Rrumbullaku has resigned, because it was a law, proposed by Mr. Balla and has entered into force. These changes brought the resignation of Mr. Rrumbullaku. It is a legal change, not a political one. It is a series of changes, departures, resignations. There will be an ad hoc committee that will select the leader.
The first place is proposed to the prime minister who gives the approval. I hope Mr. Rrumbullaku will also be part of the race. The round is a police asset. He has done an outstanding job. It cannot be a defining individual, it is a big team. This is the visible, internal part. Mr. Rrumbullaku has resigned several times for health reasons, but it has not been accepted ," said Softa.
