Journalist Klodiana Lala has highlighted one of the details of the "McGonigal" dossier, which she describes as a black spot in relations between Albania and the United States of America.
The journalist focused particularly on a fragment of the indictment, which she described as the most serious element that politically implicates Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“On page 7 of the indictment, an episode is mentioned on September 9, 2017, when McGonigal sends a photo of himself with Rama to a friend and writes to another friend that 'Rama is reforming justice in Albania and this offers many opportunities.' This is for me the most serious moral and political accusation made against Rama ,” she said.
Lala accepted the possibility that Rama may never face any legal punishment, at least at this stage, but emphasizes that the moral and political consequences of this dossier will remain long in his history.
Klodiana Lala: McGonial, a dossier that is a black mark on our country's relations with the US. This dossier should have been investigated and shown the integrity of Albanian institutions.
There is an open investigation into the meetings with Rama, people mentioned in the indictment such as Agron Nezha and Dorian Ducka have also been questioned, but what impressed me was that on page 7 of the indictment there was a detail that talked about justice reform.
It says that on September 9, 2017, MacGonigal sent a photo of himself and Rama to a friend of his and wrote to another friend that Rama was reforming justice in Albania and that this offered many opportunities. This is the most serious indictment made in my opinion against Rama as the country's prime minister. The man who should be investigating is corrupt.
Americans never forgive the fact that a prime minister would go so far as to have an occult connection with their man. Rama may never be legally penalized, but morally this is the issue that will weigh him down the most in his political life or not.
