Justice does not obey Rama/ GJKKO gives SPAK the right to take action in

According to SPAK's investigations, it is suspected that officials of this university manipulated 9 tenders during 2022, with a total value of 90 million lek.

The Criminal Court of Albania has upheld the security measure of "prison arrest" for the administrator of the Agricultural University of Tirana and 4 other officials of this university on charges of violating equality in tenders and falsifying documents.

Despite pressure from the Prime Minister, who also organized a hearing session at the meeting of the Socialist Parliamentary Group with the Rector, which Edi Rama used to attack SPAK and the GJKKO court.

"It doesn't take any science to imagine how many of these security measures will be broken in Strasbourg and how much the bill will be. To take 24 security measures, to shake up an entire university and to kick an agreement made by me going there as a beggar on the steps of the BOKU university in Vienna to beg you, to come to Albania, to make us an Austrian university. I asked the rector how much he was talking about, he told me under 300 million old lek", declared Rama.

But it seems that the GJKKO has not caved in to the Prime Minister's pressure, leaving 19 out of 24 security measures in force, while 5 people will continue to remain in prison.

More specifically, the GJKKO has imprisoned:

1- Edmond Tërthorja, administrator of UBT – “Violation of equality of participants in tenders or public auctions”, in collaboration, in 6 cases (articles 258 and 25 of the Criminal Code)

2- Amarildo Lleshi, legal officer of UBT – “Violation of equality of participants in tenders or public auctions”, in collaboration, in 5 cases, provided for by articles 258 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

3- Mehmet Qoshja, – director of procurement – “Violation of equality of participants in tenders or public auctions”, in collaboration, in 3 cases, provided for by articles 258 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

4- Altin Murto, – Director of funds – “Violation of equality of participants in tenders or public auctions”, in collaboration, in 2 cases, provided for by articles 258 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

5- Piro Zoga – Owner of the operator 'Krijon shpk' – “Forgery of documents”, committed in collaboration, more than once, provided for by Article 186/2 of the Criminal Code (four cases).

According to SPAK's investigations, it is suspected that officials of this university manipulated 9 tenders during 2022, with a total value of 90 million lek.

Investigations have uncovered a corrupt scheme involving the University's vice-rector, the administrator, and members of the procurement unit and the bid evaluation committee.

They are suspected of collaborating with private companies, determining the winners of tenders in advance and falsifying documents to increase the value of public contracts.
