The new Board of Directors of Albanian Radio Television has held its first meeting since the Assembly approved the 11 new members.
Today's meeting was chaired by the parliament-elected speaker, Fatjon Hoxhalli.
During the meeting, all agenda items were discussed and agreed upon.
Initially, the Steering Council was familiarized with the acts of parliament regarding each member's mandate and then a vote was held for the vice president, who was elected Petrit Beci with 10 votes in favor.
An important point of the first meeting was the discussion of Albania's participation in the European Song Festival, which is being held on May 13–17 in Basel, Switzerland.
Due to the deadlines set by the Eurosong organizers, the members agreed to call another meeting within this week to continue with the necessary procedures.
Albania will be represented by the group "Shkodra Elektronike" with the song "Zjerm", with which they also won the 63rd RTSH Song Festival.
At this first meeting, the Steering Council also proposed the establishment of a working group to draft a standardized procedure for the selection of the General Director according to the legal definition of the RTSH Statute.
