Klodiana Lala has given details from SPAK's investigations that led to the imprisonment of former president Ilir Meta.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Lala explained that one of the moments of the investigation is the suspicion that Ilir Meta favored Kastriot Ismailaj's DIA company by influencing CEZ to make an agreement with Ismailaj's company for debt collection and then it is suspected that he take bribes.
" SPAK has brought three charges, corruption of high state officials, the second one is laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense and concealment of assets. For Mrs. Kryemadhi, a mandatory appearance measure has been set for the same charges. For the citizen Pirro Xhixho, an arrest measure has been set in house for the criminal offense of corruption. For Ema Coku, a mandatory appearance measure has been set for the criminal offense of money laundering.
One of the charges is related to CEZ-DIA, where there was also a convicted businessman, Kastriot Ismailaj. After several actions were carried out, Romeo Kara, turned to the prosecutor's office for serious crimes, the file was registered and then handed over to SPAK. SPAK raises doubts that the former president, at that time former minister of energy, knew the businessman Kastriot Ismailaj and helped conclude contracts for debt collection.
CEZ Company entered into a contract with DIA to collect arrears. According to SPAK, there are doubts that Meta, because of the connections he had with Kastriot Ismailaj, mediated the contacts between CEZ and Kastriot Ismailaj.
The testimony of Jozef Hajsek and the wiretapping conducted by former minister Dritan Prifti are used. They are based on the testimony of Vojsava Ismailaj, the wife of Kastriot Ismailaj. The testimony of citizen Elvis Mataj was taken.
To prove the relationship with Ismailaj and Meta, in the months of April-August 2010, Meta and Ismailaj had 115 phone calls or messages. It is alleged that Meta took bribes from the businessman, therefore it is a criminal offense of corruption.
According to the prosecutors, the bribery has been verified and there are doubts that because of Meta's attributes, because DIA did not meet the criteria, and claims that since it intervened in the conclusion of the contracts, it profited the amount of 649 million lek, so this is the amount of the company. Among others, messages between Meta and Ismailaj are mentioned, where the numbers of both are identified and about 200 thousand euros are mentioned.
Mr. Meta claims that he is not related, he knows Ismailaj but he had no role. Another claim, related to travel and meetings in Vienna, is a series of associates who arrange travel and accommodation between Meta and Ismailaj , Lala said.
