The show Fiks Fare has brought a shocking story of violence and family conflict from the village of Domen i Kryevidhi in Rrogozhina, where a daughter-in-law publicly accuses her mother-in-law of constant physical and psychological violence.
Leonora Kola, mother of a minor child, lives in a single room, in difficult economic conditions, and says she faces fear, insults, and threats every day.
"He hit me with a can lid and blackened my thigh. This is not the first time. I have reported it to the police several times, but they tell me: 'Don't worry!' The state does not protect me," the daughter-in-law says with tears in her eyes about her mother-in-law.
Leonora says that she, her husband and child live in a single room in the apartment they share with their father-in-law. They do not have toilets and wash in the yard. According to her, they are often denied water.
"They tell me: 'You won't even get a drop of water!' They even threaten to throw me out of the house. Where can I go with my child?" she says.
On the other hand, the mother-in-law denies the violence, justifying it with the words "I touched her with a stick, but I didn't hit her too hard. She's to blame, she's only brought us trouble since she came. She said the son is my husband's, that's why my husband went to prison!"
The accusations are serious, while the conflicts between them continue even in the presence of cameras. The family is involved in fierce arguments, accompanied by insults, and even verbal and physical violence. In front of journalists, the mother-in-law even prays to God that her daughter-in-law be struck by lightning. During the verbal clash, in a moment of tension, the mother-in-law also hits her husband in the face.
When asked by reporters, the son of the house says that the mother is wrong and that he supports his wife and family.
