An Albanian immigrant spoke at the 26th citizen protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where thousands of protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. In his speech, he thanked the participants for their resistance, while calling on Albanians at home and abroad to join the protest.
He described the protest as a civic movement that, according to him, places Albania's interests above political affiliations.
"Gratitude to all the resisters, like you, to the immigrants, every individual, every Albanian who puts the homeland above all, above parties. Gratitude to all of you! Today we are on the 26th day of our relentless resistance," he said.
During his speech, the immigrant criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama and said that the protest will continue peacefully until its objectives are achieved.
"We are here to convey the most beautiful peaceful message, that you will fall with the peace of these people. You will end with the peace of this people. We do not know betrayal, we do not know disloyalty, but we have resistance and revolt in our genes," he declared.
A significant part of the speech was dedicated to the diaspora. He urged immigrants to, if possible, leave their reactions on social media and to be physically present with the protesters.
"As an immigrant, I want to convey a message to all immigrants wherever they are. Everyone has the opportunity at this time to be your arm in supporting you here in resistance. Enough with the keyboards of Facebook and social networks! Today this people needs us here," he said.
In conclusion, he also addressed his fellow citizens, calling for participation in the protest.
"This is the most critical situation our homeland is experiencing. Once men fought the invader, today we have the invader within. I call on everyone to be here, in support of Albanians, for Albania and for Albanians," the immigrant concluded.
