The civic protest, which has entered its 32nd day, continues to exert pressure on the justice institutions. After the symbolic handover of the book "The Albanian Files" to the Special Prosecution Office, one of the protest coordinators, Edison Lika, declares that SPAK now has sufficient material to investigate Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Invited to the Pamflet podcast "Të Pashoj", Lika said that since the first days of the protest there have been two allies: society and justice.

" In fact, if this protest has had two alliances, one has been with the entire society and the other with justice. From the first day we have demanded that SPAK investigate Edi Rama. Now the book 'The Albanian Files' has also been published, which documents hundreds of projects of the Rama government. It was there that we realized that the Zvërnec project was planned in 2022, even with a defined investor. This means that the change in the law on protected areas was not a coincidence, but was done to pave the way for certain projects ," said Lika.

According to him, the book not only documents the case of Zvërnec, but also raises doubts about other projects across the country that, according to the organizers, violate public and private property.

" There are projects throughout Albania that affect private properties and protected areas. There are citizens who have their own lands, while the book shows resorts and planned constructions on those properties. The Prime Minister cannot say that they are just drawings for fun. He is the Prime Minister and at the same time the chairman of the National Council of Territory, the institution that decides on these projects. At a minimum, we have a conflict of interest. For these reasons, Edi Rama should be summoned by SPAK, initially as a person who has knowledge and then be held responsible for any violation that is proven ," he declared.

Lika said that the symbolic delivery of the book to SPAK was a test even for the Special Prosecution Office itself.

" I don't know if SPAK is on our side, but I know that the material we have submitted to it contains sufficient elements to bring Rama to justice. Now it is SPAK's turn to show whether it will have the courage to follow through with the investigations. We have saluted it for the arrests it has made so far, but justice must be equal for all, even when it comes to the prime minister ," said the protest coordinator.

Lika's statements come at a time when the civic protest has entered its second month, while organizers are trying to shift the pressure not only on the government, but also on justice institutions, demanding an investigation into the projects included in the book "The Albanian Files".
