The incident in Vlora, where a police officer was filmed assaulting a young waiter, has caused strong reactions.
Suela Koçibelli, a human rights and children's rights activist, reacted by saying that these examples spoil the image.
" We have as many good ones as you want, and 5 or 15, whatever they are, can't ruin the image of anyone and their entire policing. But at the end of the day, they make noise, because that good policeman doesn't get a voice ," Koçibelli said on "Euronews Albania".
Koçibelli requests that the case not cast a shadow over all officers, but emphasizes the need to punish violators to maintain public trust.
Lawyer and activist Gentian Serjani expressed concern, saying: " He told me to get involved during the summer, but when I see these images, I don't think I should allow it. As a parent, I don't feel good about a son being beaten by an Albanian state agent ."
