Fire situation in the country, evacuation of residents begins in Delvina; major

The fire situation in the country continues to be worrying. For several days, firefighters in several villages in Delvinë have been 'at war' with the flames, while this afternoon, the fire has advanced towards the village of Kalasë, where homes are also at risk.

The fire is spreading over steep terrain that is difficult to control from the ground. For this reason, aerial intervention has begun, with a focus on containing the fire's spread towards the maple and oak forest massifs near the Zhulat protected area.
