Gilmando Dani, 47, and Muçi Shaljani, 40, were shot with automatic weapons on Tuesday afternoon, in an ambush that had been set up at the Rinas roundabout, an area considered among the safest, due to its proximity to the only international airport and increased presence of law enforcement.
Dani died at the scene, while Shaljan is in serious condition after being hit by at least 10 bullets.
There are many reactions to the incident, while a published video shows how fire is opened on the vehicle where Dani and Shaljani are. The perpetrators of the crime, at least 3 executioners, act as a prepared squad, with high targeting precision and retreating while protecting each other.
Journalist Dashamir Biçaku, on the TVSH Trialog show, has revealed new details regarding the event.
According to his sources, the assassination was planned to take place earlier, on the day Dani was to travel to Barcelona, but was postponed due to security circumstances.
He added that this information is currently in the process of being verified by the relevant police structures, which are analyzing all possible leads related to the organization of the assassination.
"An interesting piece of information that I have managed to secure, at least from the verifications I have made, from the communications I have had with former police officers, or with police officers with whom I maintain good relations, is that the assassination of Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani should have occurred on the day when Gilmando Dani left to travel to Barcelona for reasons that we certainly do not know. But it did not happen because that day, according to the information I have, there were movements of several foreign delegations and of course there were numerous guards and police officers whose presence caused the organizers of this assassination to postpone the event for another occasion and which resulted yesterday.
"Of course, this is information that is being verified by police structures. This information, but also other information, I believe, is being analyzed and verified by the relevant structures," said Biçaku.
