"No to the Italian Guantanamo"! With such a slogan in hand, Italian opposition MP Riccardo Magi has chosen to protest against the visit of the Prime Minister of his country to Albania today. The representative of the "Piu Europa" party has criticized the immigrant agreement between our two countries, demanding its cancellation.
In an interview for Euronea Albania, Magi said that the reason why he had chosen to come to Lezhë was to see closely, as an Italian legislator, where 1 billion euros of Italian taxpayers' resources have gone.
Magi said that what he saw was only electoral campaigning. According to him, the immigrants who will be sent to Albania, unlike those who come to Italy, will be discriminated against and denied their human rights, being imprisoned instead of being treated as asylum seekers.
" I chose to come to Albania today to exercise my right as an Italian legislator to visit the structure, according to the agreement that structure is Italian land, but what we saw is only an electoral campaign, we don't know anything about how this country will function. First, the resources that will be spent, about 1 billion euros, resources that come from Italian citizens, will be discarded to build a place where a few thousand people will stay, since they are very few compared to those who come to Italy, they do not their rights will not be respected either, so that is the reason why they will be sent to Albania. It is enough to think that immigrants who are in the same conditions, if they come to Italy they will go as asylum seekers, if they go to Albania they will be imprisoned and this is absurd, a discrimination of people who are in the same position ", said the Italian MP .
