The emigration of Albanians, Gonzato "prompt" the government: Young

The EU ambassador in Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, gave a strong slap to the "Rama" government, as he emphasized that the mass emigration of Albanians has three main reasons, the quality of education, the health system and trust in the institutions.

Despite the claims of Prime Minister Edi Rama, that health, education and the fight against corruption have seen massive changes during his government, the EU ambassador does not share the same opinion.

According to Gonzatos, these are the three main reasons why Albanians leave their country, as he emphasized that Albania needs skilled people in order to progress with reforms.

The EU ambassador to our country, Silvio Gonzato, gave this answer in Every corner with Merita Haklajn, when he was asked about the wave of immigration even 34 years after the fall of the communist regime. According to him, Albania needs skilled people in order to progress with the reforms.

" Albania needs skilled people, professional people who can help it make progress with reforms and everything that needs to be done to join the European Union. People will say, well, you know, there aren't enough jobs, or the jobs aren't very skilled. I see it differently. I think the problem is education. The quality of education in Albania must be improved. This is the reason why we have recently improved the Erasmus program ", said Gonzato, for the broadcast on "Every corner", on " A2CNN".

The problem with the health system, according to him, is that some people do not receive the necessary health services.

"The other thing is that I think that the health system should also be improved, because for some people it is also a concern that they do not receive the necessary health services, as they would receive them in other European countries ", added the ambassador.

As for trust in institutions, Gonzato says it's the most important thing in keeping people here. According to him, young people should be restored to believe that the justice system works, so that they see the future here and not far from their homeland.

"And the third thing, which I think is even more important, is trust, trust in institutions. And this is where the whole element of the rule of law comes into play. It is no coincidence that in the Plan of Reforms and Growth, you know, the plan that we have started now to really promote economic growth in Albania, one of the pillars is specifically related to the rule of law, because investors will not come to Albania if they do not have belief that the whole system is fair, that their interests and rights will be protected, that there is no corruption and so on. It is the same with young people. I've spent a lot of time in the last 12 months with young people because I think, ultimately, it's their future. I am old, but I think that membership of the European Union is for them. And so I was telling you, aren't you excited that this is a time when young people can really play a role in a country? You know, in Italy I always felt that the elderly always had the most important roles. I was always too young to do anything. But here, I don't think so. And they were saying, no, I don't trust the system, you know, if you don't meet people, you don't get a job, you don't get the position. So we need to restore to them the belief that if they are capable, if they have the right education, if they are dedicated and motivated, they will make a career and fulfill their ambitions. This is, I think, the most important element to keep people here ," said the European diplomat, among other things.
