Holta Zaçaj, President of the Constitutional Court, said that the Supreme Court did not notify us, but I read in the media, and I noticed that there was an expectation in the public that my mandate ends on March 10, 2025.
Invited to the show 'Log.' on News24, she said that this comes as the Supreme Court is one of the appointing bodies and I am a member of the Supreme Court-appointed Constituent Assembly.
Zaçaj said that when the vacancies were opened by the Supreme Court, there were fixed dates, that of the beginning and end of the mandate.
" Article 129 of the Constitution says that the constitutional judge starts his duty when he takes the oath and continues it for 9 years" , said Zaçaj.
Next, she said that " in her case, as a judge and president, the problem is that the provision does not have a set date, but only the year. So the provision says: it doesn't matter, you don't take an oath, but the mandate ends in 2025. Also, the decision of the Supreme Court does not have a date .
She said that in no case has the mandate of a member of the Constitutional Court ended on the same date as that of the previous member of this Court.
" So if Vitore Tushe's mandate ended on March 10, this was not a date conceived by his predecessor ", said Zaçaj. She said that her mandate, referring to the Code of Civil Procedure, ends on the last date of the following year, i.e. on December 31, 2025.
