What is expected from the Trump-Netanyahu meeting today at the White House?

This afternoon, US President Donald Trump will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.

The meeting will also focus on the continuation of the war in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas.

Regarding this, former Albanian ambassador to the UN, Roland Bimo, said that it is a meeting that is expected to be of great interest to see what will be discussed between Trump and Netanyahu.

"This meeting today is awaited with interest, Trump has said that he should not allow Western annexation and at the same time Netanyahu declared the opposite in a conference. There are many plans for Palestine, they are all to be welcomed as plans, but the main thing missing is to mention the genocide, because the main thing for Gaza is to stop the war and ethnic cleansing ," he told the media.

But according to the former ambassador, this meeting is not expected to bring anything concrete.

" It's a show that doesn't bring anything concrete that serves its political base. There is a growing dissatisfaction with what is happening in Gaza. Even in the case of Trump in the US, many people are increasingly questioning why America should support a state that does not always work in America's service. In response to this growing popular dissatisfaction, these meetings were held ," he said.

He also had a comment about the US's 21-point plan to end the war in Gaza.

" Trump has never spoken out in favor of Palestine. How much of a hand Trump has in formulating this plan is unknown. It seems to me that it was not done by his team but by Steve Witkoff's team, who are amateurs in this work ," he said.
