Lawyer Romeo Kara, the person who publicly denounced the CEZ-DIA affair, has commented on the interrogation of journalist Fatos Mahmutaj in SPAK.
The lawyer said that Mahmutaj, through the interview with Vojsava Ismailaj, the wife of Kastriot Ismailaj, the owner of the DIA Company, the only one punished for this affair, has shown facts and evidence implicating Ilir Meta.
According to the lawyer, Mahmutaj was interrogated to verify the interview.
"I think it's for Cez Dia. It's a very important part of that process. He's the person who put the lid on my conviction about Meta's role in that affair. I believe the interview he did is being verified. The investigations are in the phase that is being verified as to how true and authentic the facts and evidence are. Progress is being made in the field of investigation. I believe we are in the final moments of the investigation," he said in an interview on "Studio Live".
Journalist Fatos Mahmutaj was testifying in SPAK regarding the CEZ-DIA affair that has caused a damage of 414 million euros to the state budget, a file in which the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, as well as Sali and Shkëlzen Berisha are accused.
He was interrogated in connection with an interview he took with Vojsava Ismailaj (in February 2017), the wife of Kastriot Ismailaj, the owner of DIA Company, the only one punished for this affair.
