In the Court of Durrës, it is expected that the hearing for the examination of the request of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, will begin on Tuesday morning.

The ambassador of Greece to our country, Konstantina Kamitsi, has arrived near the premises of the Court.

We remind you that Beler's request for special permission from prison to be sworn in as mayor before the council of the Himara Municipality is being examined today in the Durrës Court.

Through this request, Beleri appeals the decision of the Directorate of Prisons, which refused him the permit, which would enable him to assume the office of mayor.

After the transfer of jurisdiction from the Special Court to that of Durrës, his request has gone through another "ping-pong", this time between the judges.

On September 14, the Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime will decide the trial of the case of Fredi Beler, who is accused of buying votes in the May 14 elections. The elected Mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, was caught buying 8 votes for 40,000 ALL 2 days before the elections, while he is under 'prison arrest' since the moment of his arrest.

The winner of the elections for the Himar Municipality has made 2 requests for special permission to be released so that he can be sworn in as mayor, but the prisons have refused. While in the High Court, Beleri has made 2 appeals to declare the arrest and wiretapping illegal. Fredi Beleri himself is expected to be present at the September 14 session.

Beleri was arrested in the premises of a bar in Himare, just 2 days before the local elections on May 14, after he was caught red-handed with his associate Pandeli Kokaveshi buying votes. Beleri could not take office, as the authorities did not give him permission to take the oath. The Greek government is also involved in his issues, which calls his arrest illegal and political.
