The head of the Knitting Initiative, Endrit Shabani, has commented on the Gërdec issue and the work done by SPAK.
Shabani was optimistic about the work of SPAK, where he said that it is moving at a slow pace, but it is in the right direction. In relation to the case of Gërdec, Shabani said that in addition to punishment at high levels, the confiscation of the assets of the people involved in the tragedy, where 26 citizens lost their lives, including children, should also be done.
" We don't know how far this investigation will go. The highest level is Medium. I am confident that SPAK will do what justice has not done in 30 years. Prison does not impose justice. In addition to punishment at high levels, the assets of the implicated persons should also be confiscated. It is still the beginning, it has taken longer than it should, but we have seen ministers, deputies, the mayor in prison. We had not seen it before. We have not even seen the 'former' officials in prison. The most important arrests have been made this year, since Dumani took office. There is a positive development, it is little, but it is in the right direction ", said Shabani in "Open".
