The 39th day of the civic protest against the government has also come to an end, which this evening was also accompanied by a march on the streets of Tirana and calls against the majority, but also the opposition.
After speeches held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the protesters began marching towards the Albanian Parliament, where they repeated accusations against the majority for corruption and capture of institutions.
The crowd then headed towards the Democratic Party headquarters. In front of the blue building, the protesters chanted in unison "Opposition sold out," accusing the opposition leaders of betraying the expectations of citizens and not fulfilling their role vis-à-vis the government.
Since the start of the protest, organizers have stated that their movement is not only against Edi Rama's government, but also against what they consider a worn-out political class, demanding the removal of both Edi Rama and Sali Berisha.
After stopping in front of the Democratic Party headquarters, the protesters returned to the Prime Minister's Office, where they closed the 39th day of the protest with the chants "Rama resigns", "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison" and "New Albania".
Organizers have warned that protests will continue in the coming days, insisting that the civic revolt will continue until its objectives are achieved.
