Germany needs hundreds of thousands of workers, from the unskilled to those with university degrees.
The Federal Republic of Germany is passing laws responding to the dynamic needs of the labor market, and one of them is the "Law on the Further Development of Skilled Immigration", which starts to be implemented from January of the new year 2024.
Emin Shini, an expert on employment, told TCH: "If you have a certain experience in a profession, which Germany needs, a professional education, not necessarily a university, you can immediately leave the meeting at the Embassy and the visa procedure is very fast. This is a great relief, since one of the problems with the German system today is the difficulty of making an appointment, because it is done by lottery.
The law also provides for the Blue Card according to which a qualified or even unqualified employee can travel to Germany and has the right to stay there for up to 1 year through the Blue Card. Within this period, he has the right to work 20 hours a week, i.e. a part-time job. But the moment he finds a fixed, full-time job, the procedures for the residence permit are done there, so in Germany there is no need to come to Albania.
This law is good news for Germany, but it is bad news for Albania, for our labor market. With this law, Germany affects all three main categories of the workforce, without exception. This includes unskilled workers, workers with professional qualifications, but also qualified workers with a university degree. The labor force exodus is expected to be even greater. Even as we are at this moment, we have many problems. But this will further deepen the domestic labor problem."
