Albania continues to be under the influence of a strong heat wave, with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius in some areas of the country this Monday.
Meteorologist Tanja Porja said that a gradual drop in temperatures and greater instability of atmospheric conditions are expected from Tuesday.
Maximum temperatures will reach Shkodër, Elbasan, Berat, Tirana, Fier and Gjirokastër. The coast will also be under the influence of the heat, while temperatures in mountainous areas will also remain high.
"Today we expect a maximum again around 40 degrees Celsius. This mainly in Shkodra, Elbasan, Berat, so Elbasan and Berat is very close to 40°, while Shkodra 40 or slightly above 40°, a situation that will gradually improve. The coast appears hot in the northwest, so Durrës and the entire Adriatic coast from Durrës up to Velipojë. While the Ionian coast is cooler with 35°C. The Meteorology Department said that from Tuesday afternoon there will be showers and a drop in temperatures.
