Expert Fatjon Softa spoke about the protest of citizens who have been gathering in front of the Prime Minister's Office for 29 days. He was asked about the presence of several foreign citizens of Iranian origin at the protest.
According to expert Softa, if these people had shown any danger, intelligence services and border checkpoints would have immediately intervened to return them to Rinas airport.
Softa stressed that whenever national security is discussed, there should be maximum transparency to the point where classified information is not compromised. He added that the lack of transparency and misinterpretation of facts turn the issue into politics and make it unreliable for the public.
Softa added that Albania, as a NATO member, has a continuous exchange of information with its allies. According to him, if the intelligence services had information about dangerous elements linked to Iran's hybrid warfare, they would have been stopped and turned back at the airport.
"Look, whenever we talk about elements of national security and there is evidence, there must be transparency. Of course, transparency comes to the point where it does not compromise information, but it must be transparent because the lack of transparency and the subsequent misinterpretation of facts makes it political and makes it unreliable."
If we say, for example, that other forces are behind this protest, it is enough to be in the protest and you understand that around you, your neighbors, your family members, you have all those people you know and you say, where are these enemies or not? And the demands that come there are fair demands, demands that the political class must reflect in order to make changes.
We come to some elements that were used besides the fact that they said we come from Canada and we are from Iran. But why don't we say about those who come from Italy or come from England they have come out and spoken. So we can't say that every foreigner who comes there at the moment if he had such information the intelligence service where he is.
"He could have stopped them in Rinas or not. He could have stopped the border points and they could have been accompanied without having to give an interview and having the case revealed through an interview with a journalist," he told Euronews Albania.
