The Tirana court has rejected the lawsuit of Argita Berisha, the daughter of Sali Berisha, against Pamphlet.
The daughter of the "champion of media freedom", as Sali Berisha calls herself whenever she is not in power, has sued Pamphlet for an article from 2018, asking for a hefty compensation for "defamation". We said that Argita used her father's power to get rich... Big sin!
A tactic that the powerful of this country, powerful politicians, high officials, but also corrupt people have been following for a long time with the media in the country.
They open lawsuits in court, thus creating a very difficult situation for every media house, since in addition to time problems, terrible bureaucratic procedures, they often block the financial routes, namely the bank accounts, that different media use to pay journalists, technicians and operators who work every day to inform the public.
In no normal country does such a situation occur. Every time someone contests an article or a television chronicle, he has every opportunity to give his version to the media, thus confronting opinions or arguments.
And so, it is the public that shapes its opinion based on the normal confrontation or confrontation.
In Albania, this never happens, even though there are all possibilities, and the media have never stopped this path.
'Pamphlet' is one of those media houses that is permanently attacked by powerful people, precisely because it is too critical of them.
The tactic used by those who go unpunished is never to confront the events or facts that the writing brings, but as has become fashionable, a way is used that the Civil Code has sanctioned, but that has been misused a lot.
The powerful generally demand heavy fines against journalists with the claim of "damaging the image", "honour" or "reputation".
Over the years, this tactic has worked as various judges "cut it short", giving takfak rights to powerful plaintiffs.
It is unfortunate that media organizations, starting from the Union of Journalists, the Association of Professional Journalists, etc., do little to mitigate and end this torturous practice.
Thus, Argita Berisha also tried to use "defamation" by suing Pamphlet, but in the end, the Court of Tirana, in its decision of June 8, dismissed the lawsuit of Sali Berisha's daughter.
The 'Pamphlet', despite facing many difficulties, has not been scared and has not retreated, even though aggression like this of the doctor's daughter is daily.
It is simple, since the powerful do this because we are bitter with the powerful, criticizing, ironizing, but also attacking and accusing them, of course with arguments, facts and often with official letters.
'Pamphlet' has started this way precisely because it is its readers and followers who love this journalism, uncompromising towards all the powerful and the powerful.
And we will not retreat and we will not stop for a moment. / Pamphlet
