Former prosecutor Ervin Karanxha has commented on the robbery that occurred this Saturday at a jewelry store in Kamëz, stating that the perpetrators of the incident acted as professionals and that the facility is suspected to have been kept under surveillance for a long time.
Invited to journalist Aurora Sulçe's "Terminal" show on A2CNN, Karanxha said that the manner of organization and the calmness with which the perpetrators acted show criminal experience and detailed planning.
" According to the first actions seen in the footage, they are very precise in the actions they perform. They did not shoot with weapons, they simply took the things they wanted. It seems that they have been guarding the target for a long time and have found the most suitable moment ," the former prosecutor stated.
Karanxha also raised suspicions about a lack of attention by the police on the ground at the moment the robbery was committed.
" Maybe, why not, even at the moment when the police impose fines, when they are engaged in documenting the administrative violation by taking photos of the double parking, while on the other hand they have carried out the criminal event ," he said.
According to the former prosecutor, the robbery is considered a serious blow also due to the strong increase in the price of gold on the market in recent years.
" We are recently aware that the price of gold in the market has also increased. It has almost tripled compared to 3-4 years ago. This is a big blow ," said Karanxha.
The police are continuing investigations to identify and capture the perpetrators, while so far no details have been made public on the value of the stolen items.
