The Head of the State Police, Skënder Hita, reacted regarding the serious incident at the Security Academy, where several students were poisoned by food from the catering company that supplied the institution.
In a statement to the media, Hita announced that the food and materials used by the students the day before have been seized as evidence, while investigations into the case continue.
"It was a sensitive event for us as well. We were informed that some of the students went to the hospital. Their condition was mild, not severe. We have taken measures for all the students. Regarding the actions we took yesterday, we arrested the 2 responsible persons who carried out the administrative part and the preparation of the food. The administrator of the company was also declared wanted. The substance that was used was blocked in cooperation with the AKU. The activity of the commercial entity has not been interrupted, as there are several other institutions where it operates. The specific violations will be announced later. At the moment, we have only received the notification that these students have been poisoned. Today we have continued with the same company. Yesterday, the substances or food quantities used by the students were blocked. The company continues to supply the students today as well. We will continue to work on how it will be operated," said Hita.
