Fall temperatures will give way to winter temperatures this weekend and beyond as they are expected to drop drastically.
Weather forecaster Lajda Porja from "MeteoAlb" says that starting from Saturday night we will have a change in weather conditions as the cold polar masses will penetrate our country.
"A fairly dynamic weekend awaits us, although today looks like a typical autumn day. Light rain in the central areas. It is predicted that the following hours will bring the development of clouds bringing rain in the north and north-west. More rain there will be a few in the center and the south. Today it remains warm and the wind is mainly southerly and from time to time we will have a drastic change in weather conditions. Saturday will bring the gradual penetration of a cold polar mass, which will descend towards the Balkan Peninsula and Albania, immediately bringing a change in atmospheric conditions quite high that we have experienced almost throughout the week up to 18 or 19 degrees, Saturday will lower the thermometer to 15 degrees," said Porja.
On Sunday, temperatures are expected to drop by 6 or 7 degrees due to the cold mass. Sunday will be rain and snow in almost the entire territory of the country. Meanwhile, the snow is expected to fall near the low area, mainly in Mbishkodra.
"Sunday will be the one that will make the drastic change where they expect 6 to 7 degrees of fall due to the cold mass, which penetrates the Albanian territory. Sunday with rain and heavy snowfall almost in it throughout the northern and northeastern areas and in the southeastern areas, showers in the rest of the territory. Snowfall is expected to fall near the low area, mainly in the areas of Mbishkodra, however, there will be less rain in the south of the country. Air temperatures will change drastically starting from Sunday and will accompany us throughout the week where the thermometer will drop at least on Sunday. -2 and the maximum on Sunday will be no more than 11 degrees. The heaviest snowfall is expected on Sunday and the least will be during the day of Saturday", said the meteorologist.
From Sunday onwards we will experience typical winter days.
