Dumani doesn't deal with crime and corruption, but he takes revenge on the media...
SPAK leader Altin Dumani continues to rail against the media. Although in principle everyone supports SPAK, Dumani seems unable to stand critical voices. He continues to insist that the media is in the same group as crime and politics when it comes to putting pressure on SPAK.
Dumani had an informal meeting with journalists before leaving office as leader, where he spoke about several issues, including those of threats or pressure.
" There are irresponsible journalists who, for a few more clicks, publish fake news or part of the truth. They damage the reputation of SPAK. There is also the damage done by irresponsible media. My staff has identified that certain journalists bully or threaten prosecutors of the Special Prosecution Office ," he said.
But when it comes to prosecutors' violations, Dumani is evasive. Investigative secrets are coming out in the media. Gazment Bardhi released a photo taken from Evis Berber's phone, which shows the SPAK scandals.
" There is a very thin line between transparency and maintaining investigative secrecy. The nature of the investigations we conduct, the public's need to be informed is very great, the secrecy of the investigation and the rights of the parties in the process must be preserved. We have tried to find this balance ," he said.
He has also been blunt about rumors that he may enter politics. He held an informal meeting with journalists today, where he stated that he has no intention of engaging in politics.
" I have not and have no intention of ever entering politics. The prosecution will continue to have me in its fold. You will not see me in politics ," he said.
