The Italian media continue to write about the preference that many Italians have decided to spend their holidays in Albania.
According to "Il Messaggero", Albania is increasingly considered an alternative low-cost tourist destination compared to other more popular and more expensive countries, such as Spain, Greece and Italy.
According to her, in the first seven months of the year, Albania registered over 5.1 million tourists, 31% more than in the same period of 2022, which was already a record period.
"In recent months, the number of Spaniards who have chosen to visit the country has doubled compared to last year.
The number of Turks has increased by 142%, the number of Montenegrins has increased by 62%, French by 58% and Italians by 53% compared to last year.
The number of Chinese has also increased strongly, by 152% especially thanks to cooperation agreements between the two countries", the article points out.
According to the Italian media, the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, met her counterpart Mirela Kumbaro in Tirana at the beginning of August.
On that occasion, Minister Kumbaro announced that Albania had received over 310 thousand Italian tourists in the first six months of the year, 57% more than in the same period a year ago.
